Diving conditions in the Galapagos Islands can vary, but generally, divers can expect strong currents, cooler water temperatures (ranging from 16°C to 24°C / 60°F to 75°F), and varying visibility. The diving can be challenging, making it more suitable for experienced divers. Marine life is abundant and diverse, including hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, manta rays, and sea lions.
Yes, due to the challenging conditions, it is recommended that divers have advanced certification and a minimum of 50 logged dives before joining the Galapagos Master liveaboard. Experience with drift diving, deep diving, and diving in currents is highly beneficial.
